Spinal injuries and their rehabilitation and prevention

Spinal injuries are a frequent traumatic event.

Quitting sports and work is direct consequence. 

Preventive measures of risk factors can improve outcome. 

Discal herniation is most common ailment, and restoration of health in this respect needs a bit of knowledge on the part of any practitioner. 

Most frequent in lower back, it heals if a few conditions are respected. First one is enough supplementation of essential fatty acids. 

Improvement is accelerated with a simple exercise of the mid-section. You lie down on the back, and lift-up your legs, moving them up and down, and from one side to the other. 

For training of cervical spine, most gentle exercise is again in dorsal position.

You advance  the head forward in short nodding, and sideways, without a turning motion. 

Scoliosis is a serious issue in this respect, and should be adressed additionally.

One important, but little known etiology of mis-alignement of vertebral bodies is folic acid and vitamin B12 deficit. This happens in old age, and with time can produce severe scoliosis and cyphosis.
