“Life is tough for those who have no aim. Like a straw shaken by wild black waters to and fro.”

French population is enjoying the longest life expectancy in Europe.

 I thought it would be interesting to consider shortly why.

Since ever French cuisine is famous in the whole world.

Several servings for main meals are the rule.

Besides, if you consider vocabulary, eating starts at noon, déjeuner.

Of course, there is also petit déjeuner, which is breakfast, but I think this is an evolution of modernity.

Hence, many people in this country probably still observe a more than 12h fasting every day.

The result is less obesity and Diabetes mellitus.

Lunch starts with fresh salad, which prolongates stomach emptying and absorption of food.

Follows usually a soup to replenish circulating volume.

Main dish is composed frequently of seafood, as France possesses extensive coasts.

This is extremely healthy and it is proven that such a regime prolongates life.

Snails are also sometimes on the menu.

Consumption of alcohol is high, in the past with a lot of red wine, Resveratrol, which protective also for cardio-vascular system.

Every alcohol contains from distillation different flora.

Recent evidence points to more neoplasia, colon cancer, associated with alcohol.

Thus, now the young generation turns toward beer, less strong, which does not disinfect intestinal microbiota, but adds even new ones.

Vinegar is even healthier, present in many salad sauces and others.  

To counter effect of alcohol and balance microbiota, every meal ends with cheese, frequently fermented.
