“We should indeed keep calm in the face of difference, and live our lives in a state of inclusion and wonder at the diversity of humanity.”
– George Takei, (1937), American actor, author and activist.
The Skin
This is our main protection against aggressions from the outside world.
I found it useful to report punctual experiences, especially with skin inflammations.
A Palestinian doctor, (my previous chief), told me many years ago following story:
As an adolescent he started having acne.
His father brought him to a Syrian doctor, who inserted a small grain under the skin at the level of his knee.
In a few days the acne lesions were gone and did not appear again.
Also, I observed recently that sub-cutaneous anti-coagulant injections heal long-lasting zona lesions.
Thus, probably the skin should be considered as one organ, with dedicated immune system.
A small inflammation in sub-cutaneous location activates last one.
This is the case of a foreign body under the skin, or small bleedings.
Labial Herpes, in similar way, is also frequently chronic, and not like on most occasions-recurring.
The Eyes
These organs possess also their own dedicated immune system and persons who injure one eye are at risk of losing also the second.
I wonder whether enucleation of the blind one can prevent this.
There are people who have weakness toward Staphylococcus aureus infections.
This germ has the potential to rapidly become resistant, and even toward many antibiotics.
Pharmacology is here at its limits.
MRSA is particularly feared in hospitals.
With brewage of modern Earth population such infections are more frequent.
Recurring conjunctivitis is thus a plague for many.
If you have exhausted all modern means, you can try following old recipe.
Subconjunctival injection by an eye doctor of a few drops of one’s own blood can help at resolving the issue.
As prevention you can try daily warm baths with one cup of yoghurt diluted in the water.
Our advanced society has erected rules way off Nature’s path.
Hence, we encounter unsuspected hurdles on our way.
Do not touch! Do not rub! Would remind you some of your parents’ words.
But, monkeys for instance, scratch all over their bodies in an attempt to cure invisible invaders.
