The Nut-Cracker-Syndrome (NCS) is a frequent ailment in extremely slim persons.

It is due to lack of visceral and especially retroperitoneal fat.

Beside other function this one keeps intra-abdominal organs from impeaching on each other.

Visceral fat can be distinguished in retroperitoneal and omental.

First one increases when switching to a vegetarian regime with a lot of vegetal oils ingested, while second reduces in size with exposure to cold.

Excess of last one is frequent in industrialized society and is main cause for gastro-esophageal reflux.

Main manifestation of the NCS is feeling of stomach fullness after a small meal. This is because the superior mesenteric artery compresses the duodenum inn its third portion, which does not allow the stomach to empty accordingly.

Hence, treatment of the syndrome also consists in nourishing with several little meals every day.

Another manifestation is micro- hematuria, as there is also compression of left renal vein.

Left testicular vein draining in this last structure, varicocele ensues.

Reversing this process by accumulating more retroperitoneal fat heals the illness, and with time, the varicocele also reduces its size, tending to disappear.

Once operations having been common, this activity of urological surgeon has become rare, also because extremely slim males are unusual in nowadays industrialized society.

Obesity epidemic is prevalent in it.

Thus, remains the question how to prevent the Nut-Cracker-Syndrome without putting on too much weight.

One easy solution is switching from consuming animal fats to fish and raw vegetal oils. Physical activity is also an important adjunct.
