“Nothing is like the Tao”
Sweat
This one is a forgotten subject in medical textbooks, and I cannot remember having read a lot about it.
What every doctor knows is that there are two kinds of glands in the skin, the sudoriparous and the sebaceous ones.
First secrete water and salt mainly, while second excrete an oily product.
Purpose of first is mainly heat dissipation, while second act for cleanness and integrity of epidermal layer.
Hence, you understand, watery content is not submitted to decay, while fat stinks awfully if not wiped away and washed.
Especially, if a lot of Staphylococcus aureus is present, which is a potent inducer of fermentation.
In hot surroundings, that is summer months, for instance, a lot of liquid is lost from the skin.
In winter, fat production increases and obnoxious smell follow neglect of hygiene.
Also, this is regulated by body hormones, more light increases secretion of corticoids, while darkness reduces it.
Neurovegetative system regulates sweat gland secretion.
Its parasympathetic pendant stimulates sudoriparous glands, while sympathetic one, the sebaceous ones.
It is important to even those two, as for instance strength training in summer and cardio in winter.
First trains the parasympathetic way, while second, the sympathetic one.
Overwhelmed systems cause increased sebaceous gland secretion during first and sudoriparous secretion during second.
A cool bath during hot season and a warm one in cold outside temperatures is anyway agreeable to anybody.
