Since half a century science started to be interested by this domain, with the discovery of the first Interferons.

Much more is known nowadays since but more remains to be prospected.

During Covid pandemic practitioners observed less of other viral infections and concluded it were because of wearing masks.

Today I will disagree with this interpretation.

World population dropped the masks many years ago, but other viral infections remain rarer than previously.

Sanitary authority communicates that Covid virus remains the most prevalent in sewage systems.

Now we know a lot more about this infection.

The first pandemic years cases of protracted one were quoted as Long Covid, name which has become less in use, as most last for about 3-4 weeks.

Mass immunity is now high!

To which vaccinations had a huge contribution.

We do not know a lot about viral behavior outside an infected organism, as for instance in a sewage system.

Here and in population, do we have to do with a phenomenon like other biotas?

As for instance a forest with predominance of one tree type persists until fragility becomes apparent and several species implant again…

In biotopes such movements are better known and their interactions as well.

In the park near our home crows became the predominant species in those last years at the expense of other birds, especially pigeons.

Rising population of those last ones had been of concern to authority for decades, sometimes with quite aggressive measures implemented.

Continuous search aiming at better knowledge and understanding before proceeding with unnecessary actions is probably preferable to hasty decisions.
